committees helps Geneva, helps Geneva business, and helps
YOUR business in Geneva. Volunteer for the committee that
suits your talents and time commitments. It is a networking
opportunity where everyone benefits!

Membership
Committee |
|
- Works
with the Director of Membership.
- Develop
programs to bring new members into the Chamber.
- Greet
new members making them aware of benefits and responding to
their needs.
- Work
with the Ambassadors setting their agenda, using this people
resource in an effective way.
- Maintain
a list of members who are interested in a board position or
committee assignment and prepare slate when positions become
available.
- Set
an annual program to celebrate the Chamber and recognize members.

This
group develops programs to provide member services. The
monthly Business After Hours,
New Member Receptions (bi-annual), and Yellow Page Business Directory
are also projects of this committee.
It meets monthly at the City Hall in Geneva.

Business
Issues Committee
Meets to provide an open forum to discuss business issues and
provide education in these areas for the members of the Geneva
Chamber of Commerce.

- Meets
once a month.
- Monitors
legislative issues that affect small businesses.
- Reviews
the position papers produced by the Illinois State Chamber.
- When
legislation is pending, decide if the bill merits support
or opposition by business.
- When
a vote is on the floor, committee members will be alerted
to call the legislators to vote according to our position.
- Develop
grass roots coalition on local issues.
- Organize
meetings of interest to our members.
- Organize
breakfasts with speakers about issues affecting industry.
- Find
new programs to address business needs.

Ambassadors
Program
The Ambassador Club of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce is extremely
important to the Chamber and its primary responsibility is to
retain and encourage membership in the organization.
This group greets new members and attends functions and acts as
goodwill Ambassadors on behalf of the Chamber at Ribbon Cuttings
and Grand Openings. The Phon-a-thons, to contact our members
(semi-annually) are also the responsibility of the Ambassadors.
Major functions:

- Retaining
current members by public relations calls.
- Recruiting
new members for the Chamber throughout the year.
- Act
as a public relations arm of the chamber at Business After
Hours, New Member Orientations, Ribbon Cutting and Grand Openings.

Golf
Outing Committee
Meets to plan the annual Golf Outing which is held in June.
|
|
- Sets
the program for the annual golf outing.
- Selects
the location and menu.
- Works
on Sponsors and prizes.
- Helps
out during the event where needed.

Leads
Group I and Leads Group II
Each group meets twice a month. One representative from
each business category, network and exchange business leads for
the promotion and marketing of their individual businesses.

Marketing
Ad-vantage Committee
Enhance retailers who develop advertising opportunities for Chamber
members through the Marketing Ad-vantage
advertising program and Celebrate in Geneva program.

|
Festivals
A variety of committees are organized to help with the festivals
and a Fine Arts Show that the Chamber produces each year.
Many volunteers are needed to continue the excellence of these
festivals.
