60 Men Who Cook
60 local celebrity men will demonstrate their cooking skills when the Geneva Chamber of Commerce presents “60 Men Who Cook” to benefit the Geneva History Center, Geneva Lions Club and Rotary Club of Geneva at 6 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Kane County Fairgrounds. Attendees will sample hors d’oeuvres, main dishes, side dishes & desserts made by men they know in the community and then vote for their favorite. For ticket information call 630-232-6060.

The Granquist Memorial Music Competition promotes music performance, competition, and education. Students are grouped by instrument, age and years of instruction and judged by qualified musicians. The competition is held during the annual Swedish Days Festival each June.

Geneva Concours d'Elegance
Classic car enthusiasts will gather this year on Third Street in Historic Geneva on Sunday, August 23rd, to view a collection of antique, classic and modern automobiles. Participants from all over the country will be displaying their prized automobiles hoping to be awarded one of the coveted “Benz” trophies. The Marque for this event is the Rolls Royce. This event is open to the public at no cost from 10am – 4 p.m. Join us to rejoice in the art and the design of the automobile and raise awareness for our charity, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival will be held Labor Day Weekend at Island Park in Geneva. Eight stage areas present concerts, hands-on workshops, topical song & story workshops, dance, vocal & instrument classes and special things for the kids.
